his interview was harder than some of the others. My ear wasn't attuned to how Max articulates. One of the physical manifestations of Down Syndrome is low muscle tone which can cause difficulties with speech. As my ear became more attuned to Max's pronunciation, I started catching up to what he was trying to tell me. It took me awhile. (Not a good thing when that's your job.) He was patient. Max also spoke a few words of Spanish during the interview. I had a hard time understanding him then too. Until he translated.
