At some point in my aimless 20s -- for about seven minutes -- I thought that maybe I'd become a Buddhist nun. (During those seven minutes, I also thought, "The military -- that's what I need for some direction!") So when a friend of mine was telling me that her friend Sister Anne Elizabeth is a Catholic nun, that it's pretty rare for young women to become nuns nowadays, that these days you'll find widows entering the sisterhood and that Sister Anne Elizabeth chose an order that requires her to wear a habit even though many others no longer do so, I was curious. I wanted to meet this woman who is devoting her life to being a nun -- not just seven minutes of it.
